The Plantronics SDK v3.0 is Now Live!
The latest version of our SDK, version 3.0, is now live for all registered PDC members to download! We have also added new video tutorials and technical documentation for 3.0. Check out the Plantronics SDK v3.0 page here --> Plantronics SDK
A New SDK Version Brings a New SDK Name
We have changed the name of our SDK! We are removing the moniker Spokes in the name of our SDK, splitting the SDK in two, and naming each SDK by platform.. What this means is the Spokes SDK has now turned into either the Plantronics SDK for Windows v3.0 or the Plantronics SDK for Mac v3.0, depending which one you are talking about. Read more about this name change from Greg Rose --> A New SDK Version Brings a New SDK Name!
We’re making the best headsets in the world even better by opening up our technology to application developers. We’re now going Beyond Audio. Connecting more than just calls, we’re enabling our devices to connect to applications, platforms, and even the cloud — creating a new ecosystem in the process. This ecosystem consists of hardware, tools, developers, and integrators. It starts with headsets, but now capabilities go far beyond the call.
Plantronics Hub is the software that lives on our audio devices and opens them up to development. The Plantronics SDK allows developers to tap into our APIs to create unique applications powered by sensors embedded in our devices and managed by Hub software. As a result, the headset is no longer static hardware. It is a dynamic, powerful, variable, empowering software system designed to be more efficient and enhance work life. Our headset is open for development. But it needs a partnership with developers for the headset to fully realize its context-aware potential. Devices that use our Hub software can be tapped into by developers using the Plantronics SDK, which is free, open, supported, and ready for action. With the Plantronics SDK, developers can tap the APIs inherent in our devices and get started creating apps. The Plantronics Developer Connection (PDC) is an online community focused on helping developers use the Plantronics SDK for building apps that integrate the functionality found in Plantronics devices.
