Localhost cert

This probably applies to windows too, but I'm testing on a mac so know for sure it is an issue.  The spokes localhost https cert is self signed so you can't make an ajax call to it without first accepting it / importing it into your browser.  That is fine for developing locally, but how does an enterprise deployment work for this case?  Is there an easy way for customers to accept that cert on install?   Our web app is https so calling to the localhost http port is not an option.
