Savi W410-M - Poor Audio Quality
Hello, I hope I'm in the right forum with my question. I have a brand new Plantronics Savi W410-M. The connection with my PC works like a charm, but the audio quality is horrible. No matter if I listen to Youtube videos, local music on my computer, or if I'm calling someone. Plantronics support couldnt help me and sent me a new device. I tried the following things: - Two identical Headsets (W410-M) - Different Computers - Different OS (Win7&10) - Different buildings - Updated all possible drivers. - Tried nearly all configurations in windows/sound and Plantronics Hub I have a wired Logitech Headset (4 times cheaper than the W410-M), and the audio quality is like 100 times better. Is this headset really that bad? What should I do? I'm really unhappy with this purchase... Sorry for bad english and thanks a lot for your answers! Roy

Hi again Roy,

I got some feedback from the team here: "You may be comparing the Plantronics wireless headset to a full bandwidth headset. The W410 is probably DECT so telephony wideband only, and quality is never going to match something that delivers more of the range."

Note: if you install the Plantronics Hub software from www.plantronics.com/software you can use it to check the headset is configured to use "Wideband". But as the team say the telephony wideband is not going to be as good as full bandwidth, so will not sound good with music (but is fine for speech).

Let us know if this helps? Is the problem just that the W410 sounds limited bandwidth? (a little muffled)?

Which model is the Logitech?

Thanks,
Lewis.

Hi Lewis, Thanks for your response.
Bandwith is set to "Wideband" and Range to "Medium".

If I listen to music (like Youtube) it sounds absolutly horrible. Since I use It mainly for telephony this is not a big deal.
For telephony, I use a SIP client (MicroSIP). I don't know if this software is the best one, but it functions pretty well with my Logitech (wired, stereo, can't even tell the model). While talking with the W410, others say they hear me well and clear, but I hear them (most of the time, but not always) unclear and it sounds like I would play loud music on really small and cheap speakers. (I hope you know what I mean). So its pretty uncomfortable for long conversations.
